In recent years, many graduates of Latvian universities have applied for fellowships. A total of 43 fellowships have been awarded so far. Many of the fellowship holders come from engineering disciplines, especially environmental sciences, natural sciences such as biology, chemistry and physics, as well as architecture and landscape architecture etc.
We would like to explicitly point out that applications from the legal, social and economic sciences are also very welcome.
Contact person of the DBU is the former DBU fellowship holder Aiga Spāģe.

Of course, questions can also be sent directly to us, the DBU (c.fuhrmann@dbu.de).
Essential information about the fellowship can be found here.
Please note that the online application procedure is available in both German and English.
In 2009, previously funded fellowship holders founded the Latvian Alumni Association to ensure continuous contact among current and former fellowship holders and to build up a network of environmental experts.
The Alumni Association actively participates in the promotion of the fellowship programme in Latvia, helps or supports the candidates during the application process, provides important information and tips for the stay abroad and is represented at the introductory seminar. With the support of the DBU, the Latvian Alumni Association, together with the Estonian and Lithuanian Alumni Associations, organizes an annual Baltic Alumni Meeting as well as national and international workshops. Contact persons are Zane Upmane and Janis Vagolins.
